Johanne Kardash has been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and is the Network Lead – North. After graduating from nursing school, she began practicing at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, where she remained for many years until it closed in 1997. At that time, she transferred to Victoria Hospital, where she still practices today. She has spent most of her career in Maternity but has also worked in various other areas, including Medical Surgery, Pediatrics, Outpost Nursing, Nursing Administration and System Flow.
Throughout her nursing career, Johanne has been active with Local 62, serving as Vice President, Grievance Chair, and on the NAC Committee and SUN District Counsel. In these positions, she has learned much about how SUN represents its members and is very fortunate to have had many union leaders and colleagues mentor her.
In her spare time, Johanne likes creating new patterns in her crochet, cross-stitching, playing cards, and camping. She is also an active grandma who attends many of her grandchildren’s activities, such as dance, baseball, and hockey. Johanne is always looking for her next adventure and dreams of someday visiting Hawaii and Australia.
